Learning Team Assignment: Strategic Logistics Management Department Presentation

 

·  Work with your Leaning Team to pick a company in any industry that requires carrying inventory for this assignment. The company can be a real one that exists in the market place, or it can be a fictional company created by your team.

·  Your team represents the newly formed Strategic Logistics Management Department. Your executive leadership is excited to make the announcement about your team. There will be a town hall meeting to formally introduce your organization.

·  Work with your team members to complete the following 2 deliverables:

o  Prepare a 250 - 350 words internal communication to all employees on behalf of the leadership team announcing the formation of your Logistics Management team. Be sure to include the objectives and purpose of this new organization.

o  Prepare a 6 – 12 pages PowerPoint presentation deck for the town hall meeting to provide the following details about your department (integrating graphic charts is an effective way to attract audiences’ attention) –

(1)  On the cover page state the assignment title, your assigned team (A, B, C…) and team member names.

(2)  Provide a brief background and trending summary about the industry and the company your team has picked.

(3)  How does the department fit in within the company structure? Briefly explain your department’s objectives and goals.

(4)  How many members are in your department? What functions are they?

(5)  What is the relationship between your department and other departments, and the grand scheme of the Logistics and or Supply Chain function within the company?

(6)  How will internal and external customers benefit from the support and services provided by your department?
